“Mississippi L.O.V.E.” is a documentary series intent on listening to people whose experiences are too often overlooked and sharing their stories with dignity, honesty, and respect.
We plan to continue making and sharing video stories featuring the variety of caregivers, professional practitioners, family members, and inspiring individuals who live with the inherent struggles and blessings of being a part of this community.
Through this project, we hope to help people see beyond disability and circumstance to see the people, relationships, challenges, and love that make each story unique.

The Filmmakers
Meg Case and Brad Porter first heard about this community while living and working in New York City through their uncle-in-law, Dr. Mark Wildmon, a faculty member in the School Psychology Program at Mississippi State University. While searching for their next documentary project, Mark described the work and care going on in northern Mississippi.
An initial “fact finding” trip in the spring of 2026 quickly revealed that something special is happening in Mississippi. Through subsequent visits, continued introductions, and a generous helping of hospitality, they fell in love with this inspiring community and have committed to spreading their stories.
Tax-free donations to Mississippi L.O.V.E. are being managed through the nonprofit Change By One whose work focuses on practical, human-centered efforts that improve health, well-being, opportunity, and independence. We share the belief that meaningful change doesn’t have to start big. It just has to start with one person, one need, one action at a time.
